In an effort to protect
the Hollingsworth House and insure our renters the highest
quality of rental facility, persons using the house must abide
by the following rules. The renter is required to give a copy of
these rules to all vendors who will work on the premises of the
Hollingsworth House before the rental event.
I. FOOD SERVICE
If a professional caterer and/or florist are used for an event
in the house, the caterer and florist must acknowledge and agree
to comply with the terms of this agreement and the rules and
regulations that apply to use of the house. If you are providing
your own food, you must follow the same rules as if you were a
caterer.
All food must be prepared off-site. No cooking of food is
permitted on site, although food that has previously been cooked
may be warmed in the oven.
The renter or caterer must provide all supplies, including
tables and chairs, tablecloths, glasses, silverware, china,
paper towels, dishwashing supplies, trash bags, etc. All rented
equipment must be removed at the end of your rental period.
Bar set-ups must be approved prior to the event. Special
precautions must be taken to prevent coolers, kegs, etc. from
leaking water onto carpet and/or wood floors. Renter must
provide the necessary materials to accomplish this.
All liquid spills must be called to the attention of the
Downtown Development Authority staff so that the area can be
cleaned as soon as possible to prevent staining. All furniture,
mantels, etc. are to be protected from watermarks.
All garbage and trash must be put in the large trash cans
outside to the right of the kitchen by the handicap ramp. The
kitchen equipment, tables, chairs and counters must be wiped
clean, and all areas of the house are to be left free of spills,
food, crumbs, leftovers, etc. The mop, broom and vacuum cleaner
are located in the closet under the stairwell.
II. FURNITURE AND DECORATION
Only limited rearrangement of furniture will be permitted and
will be at the discretion and prior approval of the house
manager. Those reserving the house are responsible for setting
up the room(s) and returning the house to the way it was
originally found. No furniture or furnishings, with the
exception of rented tables and chairs, shall be moved without
the supervision and/or assistance of DDA staff or security
personnel. Under no circumstances will the renter make any
changes, temporary or permanent, to any exterior features,
furnishings or landscaping feature.
There is to be ABSOLUTELY NOTHING hung, taped, tacked, stapled,
nailed, or otherwise affixed to any wall, floor, mantel,
furniture, fixture, banister, window, or ceiling of the house.
III. SAFETY
Due to safety concerns, stains, and clean-up problems, the
throwing of birdseed, rice, confetti, or petals is not allowed.
Wedding bubbles must be kept outside.
No smoking is allowed anywhere in the house.
THE FIREPLACES IN THE HOUSE ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL. There are
to be NO fires built or lit in any fireplace. No open-flame
candles are allowed in the house or on the front porch, or in
the yard. Candles used for decorations must be contained in a
hurricane globe or votive. A fire extinguisher is located in the
kitchen and upstairs in the central hallway.
Small children must be supervised at all times.
The DDA is not responsible for any personal items or materials
brought or left in the house.
I have read and understand the rules regarding use of the
Hollingsworth House. As the renter, I acknowledge that I am
responsible to the Downtown Development Authority for any injury
or damage that results from the failure to follow these rules,
and that failure to follow these rules could lead to the loss of
my security deposit.
