Located in the heart of Fayetteville’s
historic downtown, this 4,200 square foot home is graced with
12-foot ceilings, crystal chandeliers, hardwood floors, and a
wide veranda. The grand staircase, beautifully carved mahogany
and oak mantles, and stained glass windows, featuring the
family’s monogram, are original to the house.
Guests enter a formal center hall; to the right is the formal
parlor and through pocket doors, the formal dining room. To the
left is a spacious double parlor, with its sunroom. Restrooms
and a fully equipped kitchen are located near the rear of the
house. All rooms are beautifully furnished in period antiques.
Upstairs are rooms reserved for the bridal party: The “Bride’s
room” provides a private area for all to dress and ready
themselves. The “Groom’s room” provides the same for the
gentleman, and the center hall serves as a wonderful gathering
place. A restroom is also located upstairs.
Indoor capacity for a standing reception is 275. Capacity for
seated events varies according to the desired configuration of
tables. For larger events, additional space can be provided
using outdoor tents. The house manager should be consulted for
details and advice regarding these matters.
The Hollingsworth House is a public events facility, owned and
operated by the Fayetteville Downtown Development Authority.
Rental proceeds fund both ongoing maintenance and improvements
to the house as well as future projects to enhance
Fayetteville’s Historic Main Street Program.
We hope you will enjoy the elegance and grace of a time gone by
as you tour the Hollingsworth House. Please consider it for
those occasions that require a setting in a “grand” style! |
